Week 62: The last week :-(

This week we visited:

-1 night at Camperplaats Orcq op boerderij (Near Tournai, Belgium)

-2 nights at Camping Duinzicht (Near Rozenlaan, Belgium)

I'm writing this final blog having been back in the UK for a few weeks. We have been busy sorting things out but pleased we have both managed to find 'proper'jobs. Steve will start his in the New Year. I am waiting for a start date but am hoping it will be within the next week or two. We have also bought a car and are enjoying being in a quieter vehicle where we don't have to check the height barriers all the time. We went electric and have also had a charger fitted. Steve's obsessional talk about electric vehicles has calmed a little...but there is still a lot of talk about 're-gen', efficiency, neurons and...I think watts??? The car is black, is comfortable and drives nicely!

In terms of the last few days away, I can't actually remember the penultimate campsite...but know we only stayed a night. However I do remember the final campsite. Although the campsite was a bit bleak, it was just a short walk to the beach and Bear loved his final beach visit before our return to the UK. Steve and I also found a great ice cream/pancake house not far from the campsite and a kebab house even closer. Feeling bleak about returning to the UK, knowing we would need to work and return to a more structured life...we ate a lot and visited both. Bear joined us and enjoyed the dog ice cream.

The weather had become colder and windier, seemingly to prepare us for our return. I somehow can't picture us being stationary in the UK for long though and think we will be planning and saving for another big trip soon... this time not waiting 15 years before we go again.

The UK weather as we left the Eurotunnel.

Bear had a haircut.

Bear feeling sorry to see his Beardresser leaving...

Bear seems to be enjoying having the sofa again!

Steve has been enjoying 'elf-ing' at Blenheim Palace.

Thank you for following our trip. In total we spent 336 nights away in the van, staying in 159 different locations, in 12 different countries… and made countless memories! So glad we made the decision to travel and hoping we get a chance to do it again someday.
