We've finally done it...

After lots of deliberation, many hours of talking and a few tears, we've decided that it is the right time to leave our jobs and go exploring in our motorhome 'Gordon'... Yvette chose the name, just in case you're wondering!

As the world is still getting back on it's feet we'll be sticking to the UK for now but (when things improve and we're allowed abroad) we hope to head across the channel, to find some new and exciting places to visit and maybe even some warmer weather... oh and some tasty snacks!

We've been living and working in Oxfordshire ever since 2004 when we returned from an around the world back-packing trip. This trip really fuelled our love of travel and since then we've tried to squeeze in as much as possible within our 4-5 weeks holiday every year and having to travel in school holidays, which makes it tricky (and expensive) to venture too far from home.

We've also got Bear with us now, so travelling in the van is much easier than back-packing with a dog... especially our dog, as he finds the world very exciting and sometimes he just needs a nice quiet place of his own to chill out and relax!

We won't be posting much on here for a while, as we both have quite long notice periods and it's going to be a busy few months with work and getting ready to go, however we'll try to post regular updates when we hit the road.

Here's a view from a campsite we stayed at in Shropshire last year (one of our favourite places)... it was a great trip even if we did get stuck in the mud and the campsite owner had to tow us out with a pick-up truck. It was the first time we've been stuck and not been able to get ourselves unstuck!
